‘Praying our way through Advent’
Advent is a time to prepare for Christmas and journey towards the birth of Jesus. Instead of a course this year there will be a quiet day taking place at St Peters.
The day will provide opportunity to put into practice some of the methods of prayer that were explored in the prayer course (but you don’t have to of attended the prayer course to come to the quiet day). The day will explore the themes of Hope, Joy, Peace and Love using the narrative from people involved in the Christmas story.
For each theme there will input from Mary and Simon and then space for you to use as you wish to reflect upon these themes. There will be some resources available to help you engage with different styles of prayer including a creative area, bible study, a labyrinth and interactive prayer spaces.
You will need to bring a packed lunch with you and refreshments will be provided. We need volunteers to make cakes for the day, please speak to Simon if you are happy to make a cake. You may also wish to bring a bible and notepad with you to make notes during the day.
