‘to encounter the
transforming love of jesus christ’

In the gospels whenever someone encountered Jesus their lives were transformed. The 12 apostles that followed Jesus on his way to Jerusalem, Zacchaeus the tax collector, the Samaritan woman he met at the well, blind Bartimaeus the list goes on. Jesus loved people for who they were knowing them personally. This is the same for us today. Jesus knows each one of us personally and knocks on the door in hopeful anticipation that the door will be opened and that each and every person will welcome him in. Jesus was willing to die on the cross, the most painful kind of death, kept for robbers and murderers. When he died he took upon himself the sin and shame of every human being. Through his resurrection will are all forgiven for this sin and shame if we are willing to unlock the door and welcome him into our lives. At the same time Jesus overcame death and subsequently gives us access to eternal life, spent in the presence of God. This is what we mean when we talk about the transforming love of Jesus Christ. We want to help everyone within the parish of Bottesford, Ashby and Ridding’s to ‘encounter the transforming love of Jesus Christ’. We will do this through all aspects of the church’s life. We are prioritising four key areas as part of our vision.

LOVE - Grow - SERVE - SHARE

LOVE God through our worship and prayer;

GROW as disciples of Jesus and as the Church in this parish;

SERVE the community and the world;

SHARE who Jesus is through word and action.
